Help Velvet With His Cancer Care

It was noticed that Velvet was limping and believed to have ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Upon following up for his leg, it was discovered he had a large tumor behind his knee, as well as tumor in the lymph nodes of his neck and also a large tumor in his chest.
After recently losing their dog of just two years, wonderful family had noticed 18-month old Velvet (who was rescued from a very high-kill shelter), and fell in love with him.  They wanted to foster Velvet while he was being treated for what we initially thought was a torn ligament injury. They hoped to adopt him as soon as he was well.
To everyone's dismay, it was soon discovered that Velvet has cancer.

Velvet's form of cancer is aggressive and painful ~
Please help us provide the best cancer care while his foster family gives Velvet the quality of life he so deserves.

From Liz and Matt

Velvet aka Smash is an absolute joy to have in our home. In just a few short weeks, he has made himself part of our family and earned the nickname “Smash”. You may think that this is because of his smashing good looks, which he certainly has, but it is mainly because he keeps banging his big head on the cabinets and chairs.

Loving and playful, Smash seems to think that he is a lapdog. He loves to cuddle and sometimes puts his head directly on my laptop to remind me to keep petting him. Smash is very curious and loves to walk around our property and smell everything. Even with a painful leg, he is always happy, especially when we get home. He comes to the door, tail wagging, ears back, grunting with excitement, and immediately rolls onto his back awaiting his tummy rub (which he certainly earns).

Smash is a great and loving boy. He obeys commands, comes when he is called, is house trained, is good with other dogs, loves people, never gets into anything he shouldn’t, and is even working on some tricks (he already knows “sit” and “paw”). We cannot wait for Smash to heal so that he can go hiking with us!
